AYSSP | 2012 Senior and Junior Division Top Teams AIM ANNUAL TEAMS
In 2012, the Amateur Trapshooting Association (ATA) established a program that pays special recognition to top AIM youth shooters based on participation in various types of AIM shoots and accuracy in marksmanship.

In the programs inaugural year two Arkansans earned national recognition on the 2012 AIM ALL-STAR Trapshooting Team:  Luke Bussell of Smackover & Joshua Kaiser of Jonesboro

2013 AIM Annual Teams, including many AR youth shooters, were recently announced. See below (Click here to see the list.

CCongratulations to each of you on this outstanding achievement!   Arkansas AIM also wishes to recognize the AYSSP program, led by Chuck Woodson of the AR Game & Fish Commission, for establishing an outstanding foundation from which many of these shooters firmly established roots in trapshooting.  Similarly, if not for the extensive network of volunteer coaches, parents, and their supportive families, these successes would not likely be possible.

Derek Brown and Jordan Harper received their national championship “superbowl” rings in an awards ceremony held during the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Arkansas State Trapshooting Federation.

Derek, who was shooting in the Federal Sub-Junior 12-14 division, won his national title with a score of 199 at the inaugural AIM Grand Championships in 2009.

Jordan continued the winning tradition by shooting in the Beretta Junior 15-18 division the following year and winning his national championship with a perfect score of 200 in the 2010 Aim Grand Championships.

Congratulations to two fine young men who represent the entire state of Arkansas so well!

2011 All American Ring Presentation

On November the 5, 2011, three of the outstanding youth of our great state were presented with their 2011 ATA All American Team rings.  At the beginning of the ceremony Garrett Grubbs, Haden Zirbel, and Daniel Grubbs were asked to come forward.  The ASTF’s Mission Statement followed by a brief history of the time honored sport of trapshooting was shared with the audience.  The 2011 All American Team qualifications was shared, as were highlights of each of the young men’s seven best qualifying wins, resulting from a combination of Trophy/Tie and/or Score points during 2010 competitions.

“Rising above thousands of other competitors, Garrett Grubbs, Haden Zirbel, and Daniel Grubbs represent Arkansas in the highest esteem as they compete on a national level.  In addition to their excellent shooting skills, each of these young men are true gentlemen and have quickly earned the respect and friendship of other seasoned veterans in the sport.  They are friendly and outgoing, courteous and mannerly, loyal and fierce competitors.  If you have ever had the pleasure to shoot with them, then you already know the tremendous level of sportsmanship they possess.  I can tell you from first-hand experience life is NEVER DULL when ANY of these three are around!”

Speaking on behalf of the ASTF, Bronson Castleberry then presented each of them with their prestigious ATA All American Ring.  The eye-catching personalized rings have the ATA logo sitting atop a black onyx stone that is encircled with targets.  As you can see from the smiles on their faces, it was a glorious day for these accomplished young shooters who have – and continue to - represent Arkansas so well.  When the opportunity presents, I know you will want to extend your congratulations to Arkansas’s newest All Americans!
